Went in at first light with two others. The main hall is more intact than the photos suggest — the collapse everyone posts about is confined to the east wing. Floor is sound if you stay on the joists. We were out in ninety minutes and saw nobody.

The record
A 120-metre artificial hill built from roughly 26 million cubic metres of Berlin's WWII rubble, poured over an unfinished Nazi military college. The US built a signals intelligence station on top in the 1960s; abandoned after 1991, now covered in murals.

It reads as a shape in the treeline until you are almost inside it. Teufelsberg does not announce itself. What registers first is scale — the structure is larger inside than the approach prepares you for, and colder.

Permit came through in about two weeks. Guide was excellent and let us set up properly rather than herding us. Worth doing it the legitimate way — you get access to the lower level, which the fence-hoppers never see.
Went alone, which was stupid, and I'd say so even though nothing happened. No signal past the entrance, and the layout does not match any plan I could find beforehand. Bring someone. Bring a second light.

The 1963 date is off by a year in most sources. The municipal record says otherwise, I can dig out the reference.
Went last month. Add 'no parking within 2km' to the terrain notes.
Whoever wrote this dossier has clearly been. The hazard list is exactly right.
